About the work
I still have the initial sketches for this work from 1978 - dealing with themes explored for a long period of time. RL: More architectural. AK: When I went to Tenq I made a huge burlap or jute canvas which elaborated on this essence of colour blocks or dimensions - working wiht colour - rhythmic - in Senegal. The local people who came responded positively to seeing this work - sculptural or architectural.
